Um… how’d you guess? Is this a common occurrence with Ikea shelving? I’m currently considering so rather attractive blue shelves from Machine Mart. They’re dead cheap and come in red too… http://www.machinemart.co.uk/images/library/product/large/07/070710472.jpg
