It’s seems only now that the artwork from London Underground’s ‘100 Years, 100 Artists, 100 Works of Art’ exhibition [tfl.gov.uk/art] and is starting to filter down to your local tube station platform, so it’s no wonder many of the pieces of artwork up for auction back in October didn’t come close to their bid estimates. Still, savvy poster collectors seem to have bagged themselves a few bargains from artists the likes of Scott King [scottking.co.uk], Liam Gillick [airdeparis.com], Paola Pivi [paolapivi.com], and Jamie Shovlin [haunchofvenison.com] amongst others. The rest of us can still enjoy a rummage through the eBay auction site [ebay] and the occasional poster spotting dotted around the tube network. The image below is an original London Transport Poster by Tom Eckersley [ltmcollection.org] nabbed from this excellent Flickr collection [flickr].
