Hack It Up and Start Again
Here’s an idea: Next time you feel the urge to visit Ikea, grab a flat pack from the market hall, throw away the instructions and make something completely new. Why is the idea behind Ikea Hacker [ikeahacker.blogspot.com] so appealing? Perhaps it’s the blatant anti-design of the whole thing. Maybe it’s the reconfiguration and non-conformity towards one of today’s more conformist retailers. It could be the D.I.Y. angle. I’m guessing it’s all the above. If you’ve got any Ikea Hacking tips leave a comment and let us know. The image below is from a similar, although slightly less Lo-Fi project by Maxim Velcovsky [qubus.cz].
